Frequently Asked Questions
Our roller doors come fully boxed so can be fitted below the lintel in the opening as there is a front panel to cover any gaps, but if you would like to fit up and behind the lintel of your garage to maximise your opening then the top box is 205mm square for the RD55 model and 300mm square for the RD77 model.
You don’t have to fit the top box above the lintel of your garage, but by choosing to fit your top box below the lintel you will lose some of the height of your garage. This will be 205mm square for the RD55 model and 300mm square for the RD77 model. However, we’d also recommend allowing for an extra 50mm or so to account for the last slat of our doors, which needs to stay situated in the guide runners, so allowing for this, a good estimate would be 250mm square for our RD55 models and 350mm square for the RD77 doors.
If you don’t have another entrance to your garage, we’d recommend that you have an external manual override installed. This feature permits for the garage door to be manually opened in the case of a power failure, allowing you to gain entry to your garage that you wouldn’t otherwise have. Our external manual override systems run from the motor of the door down the wall, situated at waist height for easy access. The wall plate is locked from the outside for safety, so if you ever need access you simply remove the lock and insert the supplied handle to manually wind the door down.
For the RD55 doors you will need 65mm each side of the door, while for the RD77 doors the guide runners will need 95mm each side.
Our doors are available in 15 different colours ranging from whites to wood effect, so please check out our colour chart for the full range we’re sure to have the right aesthetic choice for you here.
Yes, both our RD55 and RD77 range of garage doors offer good insulation thanks to their double skinned aluminium and foam filled insert. Our compact RD55 range have a foam filled insert of 6-8mm thick and for our larger RD77 range, the insert is 16-18mm thick.
A wireless safety edge is a sensor placed at the bottom of garage doors. The sensor can tell when the door hits something in its path, and when doing so will return to the open position. This increases the safety of the system by preventing the door closing on someone or something, and therefore allows for the doors to be operated on a one press open and close system, rather than the standard mode which requires the button to be held down and monitored until the door is fully closed to prevent accidents.
Yes, all of our doors are electric and can be operated via a remote control.
All of our doors come with two handsets as standard, although extra handsets can be purchased, with up to 25 total handsets being compatible with one door.
Our doors offer high levels of security against thieves; they don’t have an external handle for perpetrators to force, and all of our doors come with security locking straps to press the curtain down firmly and make it very difficult for the door to be forced open.
We supply to all of mainland UK, but some areas may have a small additional surcharge so to avoid surprises, please use your postcode to check this prior to purchase.

Due to the popularity of our installed garage doors, it typically takes 5-10 days from sending your survey request for a surveyor to be available to visit.
No, our doors come with their own aluminium frame which is made up of the guide runners on the sides and the top box, but if you have an existing wooden frame the doors can be installed straight to this if you would like.
Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a weatherproof door as the components need to be able to open and close, making a complete seal impossible. However, we have taken every step we can to provide as much weather resistance as possible, including a double brush feature in the guide runners, a fully enclosed top box and a rubber seal in the last slat of the curtain.
